Fridman’s LetterOne says raises stake in Turkcell to 24.8%

MOSCOW, Oct 23 (PRIME) -- LetterOne of Russian businessman Mikhail Fridman has raised its stake in Turkish mobile operator Turkcell to 24.8% from 13.2% received from Alfa Group, the investment company said late on Thursday in a statement.

“LetterOne is pleased to announce completion of the Turkcell ownership restructuring transaction signed on June 17, 2020,” LetterOne said.

“After obtaining all required regulatory approvals, the transaction received sweeping support from Turkcell shareholders with 93% of those participating voting in favor at the General Assembly Meeting held on October 21, 2020.”

Turkcell is Turkey’s largest mobile operator, headquartered in Istanbul.
